Ubuntu

2016 will be my favourite „UbuCon-year“. The first UbuCon Summit in Pasadena will take place and at the end of the year the first UbuCon Europe will take place in Essen, Germany from 18th to 20th November. In the latter I’m the head of the organisation team. The UbuCon Summit is just around the corner and I’m really looking forward to attending the event. It’s the first time that I requested money from the Ubuntu Community Donations Fund which got thankfully accepted....

Letztes Wochenende fand in Oberhausen die OpenRheinRuhr statt. Die OpenRheinRuhr ist für mich als Ruhrgebiet-Mensch meine Heimmesse, da ich in knapp einer Stunde von zuhause anreisen kann. Seit 2010 war ich auch brav jedes Mal da und habe mich dieses Mal nicht nur am Ubuntu Stand beteiligt, sondern habe auch selbst zwei Vorträge gehalten. Am Samstag habe ich nur drei Vorträge besucht: foreman - Wie man heutzutage Systeme deployt war ein Vortrag von Julius Bloch....

Vergangenes Wochenende fand die neunte deutsche Ubucon in Berlin statt. Ich selbst war dieses Mal erstmals als Hauptorganisator tätig. Nach 2012 waren wir dieses Mal erneut zu Gast bei der HWTK mitten in Berlin. Der Veranstalter war wie jedes Jahr der ubuntu Deutschland e.V.. Freitag Die Ubucon beginnt traditionell am Freitag. Ich selbst war schon sehr früh in Berlin und hatte so noch ein wenig Zeit mit zwei Freunden Berlin ein wenig zu erkunden....

Last weekend the 9th Ubucon in Germany took place in Berlin. It was the first time that I was the head of the organisation team for the vent. After 2012, it was the second time that we were guests at HWTK in the Center of Berlin. It was as always hosted by the ubuntu Deutschland e.V.. Friday Traditionally, the Ubucon begins on a Friday. Personally, I was in Berlin in the early morning, so I had time to see a bit of Berlin....

The last weeks and months were very intensive in terms of my Ubuntu activities. I’m not only doing the last preparations of this years Ubucon Germany where I’m the head of the organisation team for the first time, also we successfully ran the first community-driven app developer contest called UbuContest. The contest was initiated by SturmFlut and me, and we thankfully got the support from Daniel Holbach, David Planella and Canonical....

Recently, I got an invitation from bq for the launch of their first Android One in Spain and Portugal. The event took place in Madrid. A couple of journalists and bloggers from Germany (including me) and France were also invited for a tour through the offices and labs from bq in their headquarters in Madrid. There, they showed us some details about the development of their smartphones and how they test the hardware....

Gestern haben wir auf der Ubucon-Webseite die große Ankündigung gemacht: Der Start des UbuContests. Der Wettbewerb läuft in Zusammenarbeit mit Canonical, welche (fast) alle Gewinne zur Verfügung stellt, darunter das ein oder andere Ubuntu Phone von bq und Meizu, Produkte aus dem Ubuntu Shop und eine Reiseunterstützung zur Ubucon nach Berlin. Insgesamt gibt es fünf verschiedene Kategorien, die sich nicht nur an Entwickler richtet, sondern auch an Leute, die etwa als fleißiger Tester, Übersetzungen oder auch als Designer aktiv sind....
